Sudden Savant Syndrome
Alongside her work in education and AI consulting, Jo Groene maintains an active fine art practice. In the summer of 2025, following therapeutic hypnosis, she experienced a sudden and sustained emergence of advanced visual art ability, despite having no formal fine art training. This shift has been clinically documented at the Treffort Center, and she has contributed her experience to an ongoing research study on sudden skill emergence.
While fine art was the most immediate and visible expression, the period has also involved the continued uncovering of advanced cognitive capacities, including heightened pattern recognition, integrative thinking, and rapid cross-domain connections. These developments align with long-standing strengths in mathematics and musical perception, including perfect pitch, and directly inform her consulting work in systems thinking, human-AI collaboration, and complex problem framing.
